Computational modelling of compressible cementitious composite materials

The integrity of tunnel structures deployed in difficult geological conditions such as expansive soils can be improved by incorporating compressible layers the lining. Such lining materials obtained embedding weak inclusions (Expanded polystyrene, Expanded glass beads, Air voids) into a cement paste material. material properties these individual constituents well their geometry affect overall behaviour cementitious composites. Design for specific choosing optimal characteristics composite constituents. This procedure enhanced using simulation based data driven framework. For compaction composite, multiscale voxel model is proposed. To account influence microstructure, continuum micromechanics.
